Since then, SBcare clients have been visiting the Kingaroy TAFE Salon to receive hairdressing services from students. What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful partnership that brings joy, confidence, and connection to everyone involved. Clients enjoy a little pampering, while students gain invaluable experience working with a broader range of people including those who are aged, frail, or living with disability.
The initiative has led to the development of inclusive practices, such as accommodating clients who use wheelchairs or walkers, and has helped shape a more compassionate and community-minded generation of hairdressers.
